June 21st isn’t just the first day of summer, it’s also International Yoga Day. I’ll be the first to admit, I am not the biggest yoga fan. I can’t touch my toes so yoga is tough for me. I do, however, love a lot of things about yoga like the meditation aspect, stretching, and feeling strong as you hold a pose that you’ve been working on for months. And enjoying a better-for-you snack like goodnessKNOWS snack squares after a good yoga session.  I’ll be joining in on the International Yoga Day festivities on June 21st and you can as well. Here are seven ways, other than just doing yoga at home, that you can enjoy International Yoga Day at home.

Ways to Celebrate International Yoga Day with Yoga

#1 – Take an Online Yoga Class on International Yoga Day

Taking an online class or an in-person yoga class is the best way to celebrate the day!

#2 – Do Yoga Somewhere New on Yoga Day

If you’re already a yoga enthusiast, take a step closer to your goals by trying a new pose or head somewhere new like on top of a mountain to try your favorite pose. Make sure to load up on plenty of snacks full of good ingredients like goodnessKNOWS snack squares, water, and fresh fruits and veggies to keep you fueled for your yoga session.

#3 – Buy Yourself New Yoga Supplies

Who doesn’t love to buy themselves something new? International Yoga Day is a great excuse to buy a new yoga tank, a new mat, or even a new water bottle you can take along with you everywhere.

Ways to Celebrate without Doing Yoga

#4 – Spend Time Meditating on International Yoga Day

This one is perfect whether you’re a yoga enthusiast or not. One of the main principles of yoga is the breathing and meditation. Skip the poses and find somewhere quiet that you can think, meditate, and just take a break from the hectic nature of life.

#5 – Try Something You’ve Never Done Before

Another main principle of yoga is trying new things – getting stronger and being able to try new poses as you gain strength. If you enjoy yoga, try a new yoga pose for the first time. If you don’t, try something else new instead. Just find a way to take a small step toward your goal. Play a game of bocce ball or a new sport you’ve never tried. Buy yourself a new workout outfit to use this summer. Take a new workout class at the gym. The possibilities are endless. Do something that pushes you a bit to become your best self.

#6 – Be Mindful of the Snacks You Eat

Pay as much attention to what you eat as what you do with your body. Don’t exercise then feed your body with junk. Instead take the goodnessKNOWS live yoga class on Wednesday then try one of the brand new recipes they share on the live feed. Or skip the new recipes and just think about what you’re going to eat.  My current favorite snack is the goodnessKNOWS snack squares. They’re crafted with whole nuts, real fruits, toasted oats, and dark chocolate. Even the chocolate is made of the best ingredients with 100 mg of naturally-occurring coca flavanols (the good stuff in cocoa beans!).  They’re delicious and my go-to snack when I’m at home or traveling around the world. And I love that all six flavors are divided into four squares that are only 150 calories total. You can find goodnessKNOWS nationwide with brand new bolder logo design and packaging.

#7 – Do Something That Makes You Feel Good

Pick something that makes you feel good and spend some time doing it. Do yoga. Go on a hike. Play with kids. Laugh. Take a nap. Do whatever it is that makes you feel best and spend an hour doing it.
