Just over two years ago we first started using Vital Proteins’ products in our home thanks to my husband’s new found interest with podcasts and health food trends. I’ll be honest, before my husband asked me to buy some, I’d never heard of collagen peptides. And I would have told you there was no way that two years later we would be using collagen peptides in our home on a daily basis. Vital Proteins has come a long way since we started using their products two years ago. Back then it was all about the original unflavored Collagen Peptides and the Beef Gelatin. Now if you look in my pantry you’ll see a full rainbow of colors and types of Vital Proteins’ products that offer incredible health benefits like glowing skin, improved joint health, improved digestion, hair and nail strengthening, and more.
My husband adds some sort of collagen to a drink every single morning and drinks it first thing. It’s kind of like his morning coffee but without the whole coffee thing since we don’t actually drink coffee. Me, I’m more of a hide it in something else kind of person, but guess what – we’re both reaping the same rewards even if I’m enjoying my collagen in the form of a rocky road protein bite while he’s drinking it mixed with some almond milk and cinnamon.
8 Ways to Use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Daily
Whether you’re more of a take it straight or hide it kind of person, I’ve put together a list of simple ways that you can start including Vital Proteins’ products in the things you likely already eat. The biggest hurdle for me was figuring out what to do with it other than just mixing it into water, so hopefully this list will help some of you enjoy Vital Proteins collagen peptides and their health benefits as much as my family does! And hopefully this helps all of those people who have asked me what can you do with collagen peptides other than add it to a drink!
1 – Add Unflavored Collagen Peptides Into Anything Liquid
The first product we ever used was the Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. They’re odorless, colorless, and flavorless, which means you can literally put them in anything liquid – soups, smoothies, juices, and even just a bottle of water. I think out of everything I’ve made, this butternut squash soup is still my favorite.
2 – Drink a Glass of Beauty Water First Thing in the Morning
One of the more recent Vital Proteins products is their collagen beauty water that comes in four different varieties – strawberry lemon, lavender lemon, melon mint, and cucumber melon. Pour yourself a glass of water, add a scoop of the flavored collagen beauty water, and start your day with a refreshing does of health benefits. And don’t forget to try it in beauty masks like these cucumber ones I made this summer.
3 – Add Collagen Creamers to Your Hot Drinks
Forget half and half or milk, try adding the brand new Collagen Creamer to your coffee or hot chocolate during the day. It’s made with coconut milk (great for anyone who has lactose issues) and comes in a coconut, vanilla, and gingerbread flavor. Pretty sure we all need a steaming mug full of gingerbread hot chocolate in our life.
4 – Use Bone Broth Collagen Instead of Regular Broths
How often does a recipe call for chicken broth, beef broth, or vegetable broth? Simply replace the broth in a recipe with Vital Proteins’ collagen bone broth mixed with water (or combine it with the regular broth for an amped up flavor) for the added health benefits without sacrificing flavor. We used the chicken collagen bone broth for our ramen noodle recipe, and the broth turned out insanely good!
5 – Bring the Individual Sticks When You Travel
You don’t just have to use Vital Proteins when you’re at home. Pack a few individual packs of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides in your suitcase then mix with a bottle of water or another drink on your trip. Pretty sure these have been in every suitcase I’ve packed since they came out a little while ago. They fit way better than the canisters!
6 – Add Collagen Peptides to Baked Goods
This is probably one of my favorite ways to use the collagen peptides. You can use the unflavored version in everything from banana muffins to brownies and no one would have any idea because it doesn’t change the flavor. Or go a more bold route and use one of the flavored versions like the Dark Chocolate and Blackberry Peptides for something with a bit more flavor!
7 – Make Protein Balls for All Week Long
Combine a few quick ingredients including Collagen Peptides in a food processor, mold them into a ball, and refrigerate. Store them in a air tight container and pop one or two anytime you need a protein filled snack during the week. These rocky road protein balls are my favorite, but the possibilities are endless.
8 – Add Any of the Collagen Products to Smoothies
Last but not least, try adding any of the varieties into a smoothie or a smoothie bowl first thing in the morning. Smoothies do such a fantastic job merging flavors into one that you’ll never even notice it. It’s kind of like when we all discovered that spinach doesn’t taste like spinach when it’s in a green smoothie. This works especially well with some of the more flavorful options like the Collagen Veggie Blend we used in this very berry smoothie bowl.
Hopefully these ideas have sparked some of your own! What other ways can you think of to incorporate Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides into your every day life?
