DIY Field Goal Post

First off, the DIY field goal post I made from empty soda cans. This was one of the easiest projects ever, and I love how it turned out in yesterday’s party. Here’s how you make it.

Supplies

Eight empty soda cans  One full soda can Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks Yellow spray paint Black spray paint

Step 1 – First, you’re going to glue the soda cans together using the hot glue. Make sure to press down the cans into the hot glue so they stick well. And make sure the cans are wiped free of any liquid so the glue sticks better. Glue together the nine cans in the following stacks:

Two stacks of two empty cans  One stack of three empty cans One stack with one full can (on bottom) and one empty can

Step 2 – Next, hot glue the stacks together to form a field goal post shape with the full can at the bottom of the upright. The full can will serve as your weight to keep the upright from falling over. You can use the diagram below for reference.

Step 3 – Spray paint the entire upright with yellow spray paint. I recommend doing this outside or in a well-ventilated area, using a disposable sheet or tablecloth to stand it on, and wearing clothes you don’t care about. Once you’re done with the yellow spray paint, spray paint just the bottom can black.

Step 4 – Let paint dry completely and embellish however you want. I used pennants of a football banner leftover from yesterday’s football party. Just be careful to not handle the upright too much as it will break. And if it does, just hot glue the cans together again! That’s the beauty of using hot glue. And you’re done!
