One of my secrets to great entertaining is to focus on the details. Whether it’s incorporating free printables that match your party theme or creating party games that everyone will enjoy, it really is the details that make or break a party. This blueberry whipped cream recipe is one of those secret details that I use all the time to impress guests simply. Instead of topping your dessert with a regular whipped cream, whip up this recipe instead. Add it to strawberry poke cake for one of the best 4th of July red white and blue desserts, add it to mini cheesecakes, or even just serve alongside fresh strawberries instead of a traditional fruit dip. Either way, it’s a keeper and guests will be asking how to make it!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

3 ingredients – yep, this takes just three simple ingredients to make! That’s probably the easiest thing you’ll make all day! Easy to make – if you have a blender and a hand beater (or a stand mixer), this recipe is SO easy to make. Just blend and beat – that’s it! Not too sweet – this whipped cream isn’t ultra sweet, so it’s great to add even to sweeter desserts!

Ingredient Notes

Blueberries – make sure your blueberries are fresh and not frozen. Frozen blueberries often hold onto water when thawed and that will totally change the consistency of this recipe! Heavy cream – make sure to keep the cream in the fridge until you’re ready to whip! You need it to be chilled for it to really whip into shape (pun totally intended).

How to Make Blueberry Whipped Cream

This whipped cream is so simple to make. Read through the instructions below or you can just watch the video in this post to see how easy it is to make! Pop your beaters in the freezer along with a large metal or glass bowl for 15-30 minutes before you’re ready to make this whipped cream. (This is optional but helps the whipping go faster!) While they’re chilling, use a hand blender, immersion blender, or regular blender to mash blueberries into liquid form. After the supplies are chilled, immediately beat the whipping cream and sugar together in the chilled bowl with the chilled beaters. Whip for about 1-2 minutes until completely combined. Add the juiced blueberry mixture into the cream mixture and continue beating for an additional 3-5 minutes or until stiff peaks form to make your whipped cream. Don’t over beat! Serve immediately over your favorite desserts like angel food cake (also really good with this homemade raspberry sauce), cake, and more!

Expert Tips

Make sure to blend the blueberries until they become a liquid – you don’t want chunks of blueberries or it won’t create the stiff peaks you really want! Make this ahead of time and refrigerate then just give it a quick 1-2 minute beat to fluff it up again before serving. Same if you want to keep any leftovers – refrigerate for up to three days and just whip it up quickly before you’re ready to use the leftovers!
