If you’ve read many posts on my site or follow me on social media, you’ll know that I love a good dessert dip. I have tons of dessert dips on my site including everything from the best caramel apple dip to a brownie batter dip and even a Christmas tree cake dip. If you can make it into a dip, I’m going to. With my Reese’s peanut butter pie being so popular, I thought it’d be fun to turn that recipe into a dip of sorts, and this peanut butter cheesecake dip was born! I shared this on TikTok earlier this year and it went absolutely bonkers, so I’m excited to finally be getting the recipe written out for everyone who doesn’t follow me on TikTok already!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Easy – this recipe only takes about five minutes to make from start to finish! You have the option to chill it after, but it’s not necessary, so yeah five minutes. It doesn’t get much easier than that.Simple ingredients – everything in this dip you can find probably in your pantry and if not, at your local grocery store. It uses just basic ingredients that are readily accessible to everyone!Great for any occasion – I’ve served this dip at baby showers, bridal showers, holiday parties, birthday parties, and more. The peanut butter cheesecake flavor really makes it a super versatile dessert – perfect for bringing to a potluck because it’s always a family favorite! No bake dessert – if you want something quick that you don’t have to bake, this creamy dip is the perfect option. Plus, it’s always a huge hit so yay for that!

Ingredient Notes

Peanut butter cups – I recommend just buying the already unwrapped mini versions to save time. They taste the exact same as the big ones and will make the process of chopping the peanut butter cups faster.Cream cheese – I recommend full fat cream cheese, and make sure that you let it soften to room temperature before you try to mix it in. Chocolate syrup – I just use a typical chocolate syrup ice cream topping but if you want to get real fancy, you could even try this with my homemade hot fudge. Peanut butter – this is best with creamy peanut butter unless you want your dip to be crunchy. Also, if you want to use a natural version, make sure to mix the oils into the butter really well before adding to the dip.

How to make peanut butter dip

One of my favorite parts about this recipe is that it’s really the easiest dip to make! And it’s not your traditional cheesecake dip, it’s a little different but with the flavors of cheesecake still! You’re really just going to make the cheesecake mixture, mix it with peanut butter the Cool Whip, and then add the peanut butter cups on top. I mean it’s a little bit more complicated that that but that’s the gist of it! Combine the softened cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl and beat on medium speed in a large bowl until smooth, about 2 – 3 minutes. You can either use an electric mixer, hand mixer, or stand mixer – all of the above will get the job done! Next, fold in the Cool Whip just until it is incorporated into the cream cheese mixture. Make sure you fold this in so you can keep that creamy texture you want for the dip. Now add about half the chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and mix them in. Don’t stir too hard so you don’t break them all up, just fold them in so they are incorporated into each bowl. Keep chilled until you’re ready to serve. I like to keep the dip in the fridge in an airtight container (or just topped with plastic wrap) until I’m ready to actually serve it. Then I’ll take it out, put it into a serving bowl, and garnish it using the instructions below! Put the dip into a 24 oz serving bowl or serving dish and drizzle the top of the cheesecake dip with chocolate sundae syrup and sprinkle the remaining chopped peanut butter cups on top. You could also add some little mini chocolate chips like I did with my cannoli dip but really you just need the Reese’s! Serve this peanut butter cup cheesecake dip with your favorite dippers like chocolate chip cookies, graham crackers, brownie bites, pretzels, fresh fruit (it makes a great strawberry dip), shortbread cookies, or any of your other sweet dip favorites! Those are some of my favorite things but you could really use any of your favorite mix-ins to dip!

Expert Tips & Storage Info

Soften the cream cheese to room temperature before you try to add it to the dip. If it’s not soft, you’ll end up with a chunky dip, which is not what you want. Make sure to not leave the dip out of the refrigerator for more than a few hours. Just like any sweet cream cheese dip, the dip will need to be refrigerated. Store dip in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to three days. I do not recommend freezing this peanut butter cheesecake dip. Wait to garnish the dip until right before you’re going to serve. Not only will it be prettier when you’re serving, it also tastes better if those peanut butter cups are right on top, instead of sunk down into the dip.
