I’m not normally a huge fudge person. I just find it to be too thick and rich most of the time. Well except rocky road fudge – I’m always a fan of anything rocky road. This white chocolate fudge is different than any fudge I’ve ever tried. It tastes more like a sugar cookie than fudge, and I absolutely love it. It’s definitely making it’s way onto our holiday treat plate along with these white chocolate cranberry cookies, Christmas tree brownies, and of course some Oreo truffles! This sugar cookie fudge combines sugar cookie mix with other typical fudge ingredients like chocolate and sweetened condensed milk in a fudge unlike any you’ve tried before. And I hope you love it as much as I do!

Why you’ll love this recipe

Sugar cookie flavor – there’s a reason cut out sugar cookies are so popular, everyone loves them! This fudge tastes like that but in fudge form! Easy to make – unlike some fudges that are a bit complicated, this one just has you pretty much mix everything together on the stove, pour into a baking dish, and chill. Festive – adding in colorful sprinkles makes this a really fun and festive fudge. You could also skip them and still have a similar flavor, but the sprinkles are a real seller for this fudge, kind of like the straws you add to these hot chocolate cupcakes. No icing necessary – unlike regular cut out sugar cookies, you don’t even need sugar cookie icing!

Ingredients

Ingredient Notes

Sugar cookie mix – I just used a standard Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix from the grocery store but any store-bought mix will do. Make sure it’s a mix and not something like the take and bake cookies that have already been formed into dough. White chocolate chips – I recommend Ghiradelli brand chocolate chips for this since the white chocolate is such a key component of the fudge. Otherwise, Hershey or Nestle work too. I don’t recommend a generic store brand.

How do you make white chocolate fudge

With this recipe being so simple to make, it’s important to follow the instructions carefully. This fudge recipe can go from delicious to destroyed in minutes if you don’t watch it or turn your heat on too high.
First you’ll need to prepare a 9″x9″ square baking pan by lining it with parchment paper then spraying with cooking spray. In a medium sized sauce pan, combine white chocolate chips, sugar cookie mix, butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Heat ingredients over medium heat until it is melted and smooth. Once it’s all melted and smooth, remove it from the heat and add the vanilla and the holiday sprinkles. I usually use about 1/2 cup of sprinkles. Stir until mixed in well. Now pour the mixture into the pan you prepared earlier with the parchment paper. Sprinkle the remaining sprinkles on top. You could technically skip this step if you don’t want sprinkles on top, but they definitely make this white chocolate fudge more festive looking! You could also just do half so there are still sprinkles but not a crazy amount of sprinkles! Put the white chocolate fudge into the refrigerator for about an hour (or until hard). Pull the parchment paper out of the pan and sit on a flat surface. Cut into squares to serve.

Expert Tips

Keep the mixture on medium or lower. Don’t raise it higher than that or the mixture will burn. If it smells like it’s beginning to burn, turn it down even lower as some stovetops are different. Press the holiday sprinkles onto the top of the fudge lightly to get them to stick into the fudge. Make sure to put a piece of parchment paper in the baking dish before pouring in the fudge. This will make it so much easier to cut the fudge into squares! Swap out different sprinkles for different holidays to make this white chocolate fudge a good recipe for all year round! Double the recipe and pour the mixture into a 9×13 baking dish instead of a square one. Store fudge in an airtight container and enjoy for up to one week.
